Health and skincare have never just been an interest for me – they have been a lifestyle. I have always been passionate about understanding how the skin works and how we can best care for it from the inside out. But it wasn't until I took a big leap into the world that my vision truly took shape.
8 months in the heart of K-beauty
In 2022, I packed my bags and moved to South Korea to study. During my 8 months in Seoul, I became completely engrossed in Korean skincare culture. There, K-beauty isn't about quick fixes for the moment, but about deep-seated health, preventive care, and incredibly innovative formulations.
I spent all my free time delving into their ingredients, routines, and the scientific basis behind their unbeatable skincare. It was a whole new world that opened up to me.
The guide that started it all
When I returned to Sweden, I was filled with new knowledge and an enormous drive to share everything I had learned. I sat down and wrote a comprehensive, in-depth skincare guide that I chose to give away for free. My only goal was to help others understand their skin in the same way I had learned in Korea.
The response was overwhelming. Readers loved the guide and quickly started reaching out to ask for specific product recommendations to achieve the results I wrote about.
The problem that became a solution
It was here that I encountered a massive problem. When I scoured the Scandinavian market, I couldn't find the products I wanted to recommend. Either the active Korean ingredients were missing, or the formulations simply weren't up to par – the Korean "recipes" were absent.
Right then and there, Tego Skincare was born. I realized that if I couldn't find the perfect Korean formulations adapted for our market, then I simply had to create them myself. The result? A skincare line where Scandinavian minimalism meets advanced Korean beauty science.
